NASA-STD-8719.11 (W/ CHANGE 3), NASA SAFETY STANDARD: SAFETY STANDARD FOR FIRE PROTECTION (06 APR 2006)., This Safety Standard establishes a uniform, comprehensive NASA Fire Protection Program. It contains minimum fire safety requirements and guidelines applicable to NASA Headquarters and all NASA Centers. This standard expands on the policy and guidelines for fire protection listed in Chapter 9 of NPG 8715.3, “NASA Safety Manual.” It is a compilation of pertinent requirements from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and unique NASA requirements. The intent is to combine the knowledge of all NASA Centers, standardize definitions, and develop uniform requirements. This document is not intended to be a substitute for Federal or applicable State and local government requirements.
