These recommendations correct shortcomings in GSFC configuration management procedures and address the relevant CM factors cited in the Genesis Mishap Investigation Board Report. This GID applies to all flight projects, suborbital projects, and supporting ground systems at alllocations at GSFC.

GPR 2800, GSFC SECTION 508 WEB COMPLIANCE.This directive describes the responsibilities and processes for ensuring GSFC Web site and Web application compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d). Section 508 requires federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities, and to give both disabled employees, and members of the public with disabilities, access to information that is comparable to the access available to others.

GPR 3600.1A, WORK SCHEDULES.This directive describes the work schedule options available to employees of the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and the requirements and procedures to be followed by supervisors and employees for establishing individual tours of duty.

This directive describes the roles and responsibilities of the Principal Investigator (PI), the program office, the implementing organization, and NASA Headquarters (HQ) with respect to the overall management of PI-mode missions at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). GPR 8070.4A, Administration and Application of Goddard Rules for the Design, Development, Verification and Operation of Flight Systems. This directive defines the process for the administration and application of the Goddard Rules for the Design, Development, Verification and Operation of Flight Systems. This includes the control of changes, compliance verification and deviation/waiver management.

GPR 8719.1, CERTIFICATION AND RECERTIFICATION OF LIFTING DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT. This directive establishes the requirements for the Goddard Recertification Program (RECERT) to provide Center organizations with inspection, certification, recertification, and consultation of lifting devices and equipment (LDE), mobile aerial platforms (MAP), powered industrial trucks (PIT), and critical jacks (collectively, MPJ). LDE Operator, Critical Lift Coordinator (CLC), and MPJ Operator training and certification requirements are also established. This Center program improves safety, and minimizes or prevents potential personnel injury or fatality, or damage to, or loss of, hardware and facilities. This directive is not a substitute for applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. OSHA requirements apply to all GSFC lifting operations.
