MIL-STD-6020 (NOTICE 1), DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTEROPERABILITY STANDARD: DATA FORWARDING BETWEEN TACTICAL DATA LINKS (TDL) (02 NOV 2006)., Mil-Std-6020 describes the approved standards/agreements to achieve compatibility and interoperability between command and control and communications systems and equipment of U.S. military forces employed or intended to be employed in joint/combined tactical operations. MIL-STD-6020 is UNCLASSIFIED and contains forwarding rules for TDLs. The purpose of this document is to provide a standardized set of forwarding rules for DoD use. As authorized by DISA-GE332 the DoD controlling office for this MIL-STD, the distribution restriction of this military standard has been lowered from "D" to "C" (restricted to the federal government and its contractors). All allied releases of this standard continue to require a foreign disclosure authorization. ASSIST can provide copies of MIL-STD-6020 to federal employees. Federal contractors may obtain a copy of this MIL-STD from their government Point of Contact (POC) who can access ASSIST.
