MIL-STD-430A (NOTICE 1), MILITARY STANDARD: MACROGRAPH STANDARDS FOR STEEL BARS, BILLETS, AND BLOOMS (08 JUN 1973) [USE ASTM E 381-68 AND MIL-STD-1459]., Standard MIL-STD-430A, dated 30 June 1966 is hereby cancelled. ASTM E 381-68 should be used for the evaluation of macrographic requirements for steel bars, billets, and blooms. For the macrographic evaluation of steel bars used for special needs in connection with shell materials and other Ordnance applications, MIL-STD-1459(MU) should be wed when applicable
