The preparing activity for this document has determined that ASTM A500, “Standard Specification for Cold-Formed Welded and Seamless Carbon Steel Structural Tubing in Rounds and Shapes," and ASTM A501, "Standard Specification for Hot-Formed Welded and Seamless Carbon Steel Structural Tubing," are suitable replacements for specific applications, but users are cautioned to evaluate these documents for their particular application before citing them as a replacement document.
