MIL-I-45914A, MILITARY SPECIFICATION: INSERT, SCREW THREAD - LOCKED IN, KEY LOCKED, GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR (25 APR 1991)., This specification covers locked in, screw thread inserts which have integrated locking keys to prevent rotation of the insert when installed in the tapped holes. NOTE: This item is also called a "Keensert" and it provides high resistance to torque out and pullout. The keys in each insert are driven down through the threads of the parent material, mechanically locking it into place. These locking keys positively prevent rotation due to torsion or vibration. Keenserts are available with locking or non-locking internal threads.
