FAA-C-1217G, FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION SPECIFICATION: ELECTRICAL WORK, INTERIOR (16-APR-2015)

FAA-C-1217G, FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION SPECIFICATION: ELECTRICAL WORK, INTERIOR (16-APR-2015)., This specification defines the minimum requirements for electrical work at FAA facilities. National and international codes such as the National Electric Code primarily address safety. In particular, the National Electric Code, Paragraph 90.1(B), states "This Code contains provisions that are considered necessary for safety. Compliance therewith and proper maintenance results in an installation that is essentially free from hazard, but not necessarily efficient, convenient, or adequate for good service or future expansion of electrical use." It is the intent of this standard to ensure that installations are not only free from hazard, but are efficient, and adequate for good service. This standard does not supersede national codes, but augments them. 3. Specific FAA facilities, e.g., air route traffic control centers (ARTCCs), Metroplex Control Facilities (MCFs), Terminal Radar Control (TRACONs), etc., may have requirements that are more stringent than these minimum requirements.
