DI-MGMT-81824, DATA ITEM DESCRIPTION: SECURITY CLASSIFICATION GUIDE (30 JUN 2010)

DI-MGMT-81824, DATA ITEM DESCRIPTION: SECURITY CLASSIFICATION GUIDE (30 JUN 2010)., The Security Classification Guide (SCG), as defined by OPNAVINST 5513.1F, identifies information or components of a system, program, project, or multiple programs that, if exposed, are determined to be a risk to National security. SCGs serve both legal and management functions by recording Department original classification determinations made under Executive Order (EO) 13526 of 29 December 2009, and its predecessor and successor executive orders on national security information. SCGs are the primary reference source for derivative classifiers to identify the level and duration of classification for specific information elements. Three levels are assigned which are: top secret, secret, or confidential. This information is used to ensure there is an appropriate level of protection assigned and a time period for which this protection must be continued. This Data Item Description contains the format, content, and preparation instruction for the data product resulting from the specific and discrete task requirement delineated in the contract. OPNAVINST 5513.1F can be accessed at the Department of the Navy Issuances website: http://doni.daps.dla.mil/default.aspx
